I'm sure they got permission. Promo the phones and the blender. Note 3 lost its cover and battery first while the iPhone still on, but once they went away from slow motion, both started to really get destroyed at the same time. I wonder how much those blenders cost? Probably the same as those phones lol

I think the blender company (Blendtec) did it for promotion for themselves.

The cheapest ones are about $400, while the "Tom Dickson" edition (with Will It Blend DVD included) is just over $1000.
